The Mystery Quilt that Keeps on Giving

I met Sandra in one of my first quilting classes at The Fabric Center. Love that store & for the last few years, Sandra and I have both joined in their mystery quilts or stash buster challenges. In 2023, the mystery was a bit of a bear. I may be experiencing some PTSD as I bring up these memories. It had very vague guidelines. They gave you lots of block patterns and let you choose which ones to make. You chose a color palette, but then they said you can add to it whatever you want from your stash. I do better with more strict guidelines, personally.

I loved how Sandra ended up using all the same block style for her quilt at that time. (Let me see if I can find that picture to share with you here.) Anyway...because she had tried out the patterns for some of the other blocks before deciding to go that way, she had a bunch of orphan blocks. Well, she decided to put them to good use and made this baby quilt she will be donating to a charity. Nicely done, Sandra!

And just for fun...here are the 4 quilts that I quilted from that same mystery challenge! Isn't it fun how different they all came out?? Laura had the more subdued color palette with the blues and creams whereas Sandra, Lorie, and I went with the rainbow puke palette. Oh sorry, I meant the vibrant spring colors.
